Martin Earl “Marty” LaForme

December 5, 1963 - April 8, 2025

Martin passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 8, 2025, at the Woodstock General Hospital with family by his side at the age of 61 years.

Much loved son of Christine Hill (Peter deceased) and Roy Page (deceased).  Marty will be missed dearly by siblings Tina (Errol), Darrel, Todd, and Janelle (Andrew).  He is fondly remembered by special friend Jackie, his nieces, nephews, along with extended family and friends.  Predeceased by his father Roy Page, and second father Peter Hill and brother Chet Page.

Marty lived a simple life and grew up as an avid tinkerer.  He spent years carrying his tools and tool belt around tackling renovation projects.  Small jobs were his specialty but not much scared him.  He would find a way.  He was a master handyman and a strong believer in Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle long before it was cool.  He never threw out spare parts or scraps, never knowing when it might be needed.

Marty loved listening to country music, playing his guitar, and sharing his stories.  They were all factual, at least as he recalled, and always entertaining.  With classic twinkling eyes and smirk, he always kept you guessing.

Funeral Service will be held at Hyde & Mott Chapel of R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes Ltd., 60 Main St. S., Hagersville on Monday April 14, 2025 at 11 a.m. (visitation 9:30 a.m. until service time).  Cremation to follow.  www.rhbanderson.com

To Christine, Tina, Todd, Darrel & Janelle: sad to hear about Marty's passing. There are so many fun childhood memories & stories when I think of Marty. In the summers we all worked hard to make a little bit of money, and I remember Marty was the hardest worker of us all. I remember he played guitar and could build just about anything. We had a lot of fun from the cucumber patches to the tobacco fields. We had some good neighbourhood adventures too just like Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer (LOL). Wishing Marty's family much comfort & peace in this time of sorrow. Skennen.

I used to work at Wag's store years ago and Marty used to come in regularly. He was so shy back then, but such a nice guy. I'm sorry to hear that he's gone so soon.
