November 20, 1945 - September 2, 2025



Peacefully on Tuesday September 2, 2025 at the West Haldimand General Hospital loving husband of Tena loving father of Michelle, Stanford (Inez), Garry (Whitney), and Aldean (special friend Ardell). Loving grandfather of fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Dear brother of Joanne Tubbs, and predeceased by Joe Winters, Florence Longboat, Dora Guthro, Albert, Calvin, David, Bill, and Donny. Garry will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Garry received a coronation medal from King Charles in recognition of his valuable contribution to our country. Friends may call at the Hyde and Mott Chapel 60 Main Street South, Hagersville from 7-9 pm Thursday Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1 pm Friday September 5, 2025 Interment New Credit. www.rhbanderson.com

On behalf of the Indigenous Education Team at the Peel District School Board, we share our deepest condolences on the passing of Elder Garry.

Elder Garry was a guiding presence in our work. Through his songs, stories, and wisdom, he reminded us of the responsibility we hold to honour treaty rights and ensure Indigenous students are seen, heard, and valued. His generosity, humour, and vision shaped our path and strengthened our commitment to Indigenous education.

We are profoundly grateful for his teachings and for the time we were able to walk alongside him. His spirit and legacy will continue to inspire our work for generations to come.

Garry was such an extraordinary teacher. Using stories, humour and music he has taught many. It is up to us now to use these teachings to continue his work protecting the environment and reconciliation. I am grateful to have learned from him. Rest well Garry you will be missed along the Humber River.

Elder Sault was an amazing spirit and voice for many years. His spirit and wisdom will continue with the efforts of all those he came in contact with. Elder Sault was a good friend and colleague for many years. His spirit, dedication, knowledge and compassion with people made the future bright. The willingness to be part of the bigger project was always the cohesive spirit in being with Elder Sault. Thank you to your family for sharing such a sincere person during such troubled times. Sincere condolences on behalf of the Norval Outdoor School and Upper Canada College. Elder Garry Sault touched the lives of hundreds of students and teachers over almost ten years of visiting our school. We are grateful to have known and learned from him. His legacy will live on in the many people who came to known him. His optimism, in particular, is a lesson I will always carry with me.
