Allan Hietapakka
December 1, 1946 - August 30, 2026
On August 30, 2026 Allan Hietapakka passed away at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe in his 80th year with his family by his side. He leaves behind his soulmate and partner in crime Monica Looper; his sons, Jefferson of LadySmith, B.C., Danny (Christine) of Brantford; and two grandchildren Brianna, and Madison. Also left behind two step-daughters Natashia, and Alisha (Andrew); step-grandsons, Kasey, Jaxson, and Glyn; sister, Anise; and brother, Raymond.
Al worked with Ontario Hydro for a number of years before he set up his own company, P.S.I.A. which entailed numerous clients throughout Canada and U.S.A. Al loved travelling and making sure there was always fun on the way. He loved to fish but his ultimate hobby was cooking and entertaining, and he never had a problem using his friends as guinea pigs to try his latest dish. Fortunately only a few times the experiment had to be quickly changed to pizza.
Many thanks to Dr. Sathiyapalan and her wonderful team at Juravinski Cancer Center. A heartfelt thanks to friend Dave Hines for all his extra help and support. Due to Al’s new found love of cats, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Purr-fect Companions in Delhi, Ontario.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Br.#79, 200 West St., Simcoe, ON on Saturday October 17, 2026 from 1-4pm. Arrangements by Hyde & Mott Chapel, Hagersville.

Monica and family,
So sorry to hear of Al's passing. He was a great cook and delighted in serving wonderful meals to friends and family! He fought a very brave and tough battle and was always positive and he will be sadly missed. Rest in peace Al.

So sad to hear this. I worked with Al many years ago and our friendship continued long afterwards. We had a lot of good times together. You will be missed Allan. Condolences to Monica, Jeff, Danny and the family.

I have many good memories working with Al in the early hydro days at Lennox .We had fun at work and away from work fishing hunting and spending time at his beautiful retreat cottage He was a good friend and a good person

We will really miss Al. There were so many times Monica and Al would invite us for lunch and tease about having to use up the leftovers. We had a lot of laughs over the years and even traveled a number of times together. He was always a gracious host and helped Barry and I so many times. More than I can count actually so yes, he's left a void and we will always remember to his giving nature and wonderful sense of humor. His friendship is something we will never forget

I was so sorry, to hear of Al's passing. I'm glad there are wonderful memories, that Al was able to visit Jeff and that both sons, knew their Dad, to be both loving and fair. And Monica, I am so sorry for your loss of Al, dear. Thank you for being there for him, so faithfully, for striving to meet his needs fully, especially as he slipped further in health. I'm glad for the times of travel and enjoyment, that you shared with him, the fun times and special memories, you have to carry with you.
Keep living, fully and with sensitivity toward life's amazing treasures and endearing, important focuses. May you know always, the love, appreciation and care of family and friends alike, for you are a truly, dear and precious lady.

I'm so sorry to hear about Al's passing. I did not get to know him very well, but the times I did meet him was entertaining and he was very sociable, very pleasant. He was a great host who love to cook and entertain and I valued our friendship as short as it was.
