Kent Norman Bilton
December 9, 1942 – January 23, 2023

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Kent Norman Bilton at the age of 80. Much loved father of Natasha (Chris), beloved brother of Glen (Joanne), Dale (Kellie) and Lynn. Predeceased by his wife Patricia and his parents Lloyd and Jessie.

Kent graduated from Hagersville High School, received his BA from McMaster University and taught high school in Almonte. He continued his studies and received his LLB from Osgood Hall, after which he practised law in Toronto and London. He continued his legal career with CMHC in Toronto, Ottawa and Saskatoon, retiring from the position of Senior Solicitor. Kent then returned to teaching ESL. He continued to teach and was an active volunteer driver for seniors up until the pandemic. His passion for sports and politics and his love of learning continued throughout his life.

Cremation has been entrusted to Hyde & Mott Chapel of R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes in Hagersville. A gathering will be held at a later date to honour and celebrate his life. www.rhbanderson.com

A man I truly admired, Kent was wonderful to spend time with. He has been so blessed with a marvellous family who Sood by him. His many interests kept me "on my toes" and truly inspired me-- always a good teacher. A good man, a good life!

From bucolic beginnings on beautiful Alborough Farms to Senior Solicitor with CMHC, and an active “retirement” as an educator and volunteer! Well done Kent, a life well lived. RIP Kent

Our sincere condolences to the Bilton family in the loss of a loving father and big brother. My husband just recently got to know the Bilton clan but I regret that he never met Kent. I've been filling him in on tales of us being neighboring farm kids and attending SS#19 together. Kent was the "big kid" that showed us the way. Good memories of a good guy. Rest in peace Kent.

Such sad news. It's been my honour to have known Kent since 1966. I'm so glad that we talked on his birthday and just before Christmas from Victoria BC. The years that I had the most frequent contact with Kent and his family were the ones when we all lived in London, ON. Natasha was just little (and so cute at Christmas in her traditional Ukrainian costume.) My condolences to her and the rest of Kent's family and friends. The world has lost a good man. I will miss him.

My sincere condolences to Natasha and other Bilton family members on Kent's passing.

I was a colleague of Kent's during his many years with Legal services. As the former Director of Legal services and General Counsel at CMHC, I am very familiar with Kent's contribution to the Corporation. He was a very competent versatile lawyer who served his clients well. Equally important, he was a good friend/colleague to all. I always enjoyed our many discussions/debates. His personality and good humour added to any encounter with him.

Several of my colleagues - Sharen Rosenzveig and Reem Hindieh - have asked that I extend their condolences i am certain that all of us who worked with Kent are of the views which I have expressed.

Kent will be missed.

I, Nadia, was a nursing school classmate and friend of Kent's late wife Patricia. My husband Harold and I made a point of meeting Kent and Natasha after her passing. He was an engaging, nice person. Rest in peace. Our deepest condolences to his family.

Hello Natasha and other family members.
I just wanted to say that I remember Kent from McMaster University where I knew him in Whidden Hall in 1961+ .
Although I haven't seen him for decades I recognized his joyous and slightly impish grin. So sorry I didn't reach out sooner to reconnect.
Please accept my condolences.
I remember him fondly.
